• About the Club

    Did you know that the Clear Lake Shores (CLS) Civic Club sponsors more than a dozen fun-filled events each year? 

    • The club also donates funds to many worthwhile causes.
    • We publish the Islander Newsletter and distribute it to every island home each month.
    • We also acknowledge and honor the best Yard-Of-The-Month and the best decorated homes at Christmas.
    • We have sent care packages to our troops serving overseas, and when able we have helped other civic and local organizations in their efforts to better our community.

    Our members take a very active role in seeing that the "Little Slice of Paradise" that we call Clear Lake Shores is a home to us all, and not just an address where we live.

  • Class of 2015 Scholarship

    Clear Lake Shores Civic Club Scholarship Foundation

    Eligibility and Requirements
    Student must have resided in Clear Lake Shores for their Junior and Senior high school years.

    Student’s family shall have been a member of the Clear Lake Shores Civic Club for a minimum of one (1) year.

    Student must have maintained a 3.0 GPA for their junior and senior high school years. Proof shall be required.

    The student shall have been actively involved in the community. Signed documentation shall be required.

    Scholarships already received shall have a maximum amount of $5,000.

    Student must attend a minimum of nine (9) hours of courses per semester / quarter depending on the school program.

    Student must have completed high school, state recognized home school curriculum, or GED and be accepted to any school of higher education except for online for the Fall semester or quarter for the calendar year for which the scholarship is being submitted.

    All applications must be completed and submitted prior to the deadline of June 21, 2015. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

    Scholarships must be applied for each year. Each student applicant will receive a minimum of $200 with a maximum of $2,000 from the scholarship fund. This scholarship is payable to the school only.

    The scholarship funds a student receives is based on the two (2) scholarship awards available each year, and the amount of funds available at the time of distribution.

    June 21, 2015 – Deadline for application entries
    July 12, 2015 – Recipient(s) will be notified of scholarship
    August 2014 – Award amount will be sent to recipient’s college / university of choice

    Q: Who can be a member?
    A: Any inhabitant or property owner of the City of Clear Lake Shores, of good character.

    Q: How much does it cost to join?
    A: $25 per year, per family -- the year begins in July and the dues can be paid to the club treasurer.

    Q: When are the meetings?
    A: They are the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Clear Lake Shores Club House.
